Embeddable widgets

Widget Factory

Live data widgets you can drop into any website with a single iframe. No build step, no JavaScript framework, no plugin to install.

Every widget is served from our host and keyed to your domain, so it works the same on a WordPress site, a hand-built static page or a ScoopAdmin build. You paste one tag and it renders.

What's available

Four widgets, shipping today.

Each one is a self-contained page rendered by our server and framed into yours. Because the data is fetched and cached on our side, your visitors never wait on a third-party API and you never handle an API key.

  • Pollen — local pollen forecast by postcode
  • Air Quality — current air quality index
  • Weather Forecast — multi-day local forecast
  • Facebook — a page's recent posts as a feed
How it works

One iframe, three parameters.

A widget is addressed by name, your domain and your key. Widget-specific options — postcode, how many days, your colours and font — are added as extra parameters. Sizing is yours to control, and every widget is responsive inside whatever box you give it.

  • Works on any site that can hold an iframe
  • Per-domain key, so one client's key won't run on another's site
  • Embedding-origin enforcement to stop key sharing
  • Lazy loading supported, so it won't slow your page
  • Secrets are set through a POST-only endpoint, never in a URL

Facebook feeds need a page ID and access token, set once through a secure form rather than passed in the embed.

Questions

Common questions

Will it match my site?

Yes, and you can do it yourself. Each widget reads your colours straight from the embed — background, card surface, body text, muted text and an accent — as plain hex values. You can also set the font (one of yours, or any Google font), the corner radius, and whether the soft background wash stays on. Change the tag, reload the page, done. The one thing we hold steady is the data colouring, like the pollen severity scale and the air quality bands, because those colours carry the meaning.

Can I change how the dates and the location read?

Yes. You can show the place as a ZIP, as a city name, or leave it off entirely, and you can pick the date format — US, international, or ISO — with 12 or 24 hour time. Handy if the widget sits next to other dates on your page and you want them to agree.

What happens if the data source goes down?

Your page carries on as normal. We cache every response on our side, so if the upstream API has a wobble the widget keeps showing its last good reading instead of leaving a gap or an error on your page.

Can I use one key across several sites?

Each site needs its own key. That's deliberate — a key is tied to one domain, so if it ever leaks it can't be lifted onto somebody else's site. If you run several sites, just tell us and we'll set up a key for each.

Need a widget we don't have yet?

Most of these started as a client request. If you need live data on a page and there's an API for it, it's worth asking.
